Linn-Benton Housing Authority is a regional public corporation created by Linn and Benton Counties to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for low-income residents. We are empowered to undertake all activities necessary to accomplish this public purpose, including acquiring property, developing housing, issuing tax-exempt bonds, entering into mortgages, borrowing money, accepting grants, entering into partnerships, and managing property. Linn-Benton Housing Authority is the largest provider of affordable housing opportunities in the area, serving over 2500 families, and annually paying $12 million in rental subsidies directly to area landlords. Linn-Benton Housing Authority is separate and distinct from HUD, county government, and other county and state agencies, much like a special district. We are a regional public agency. We are not a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Linn-Benton Housing Authority is governed by a nine-member Board of Commissioners appointed by Linn and Benton County Commissioners.
