Located in downtown Brownsville, four one-bedroom units designed for elderly/disabled use offer private patios, landscaped common grounds, coin-operated laundry room, and handicap accessible bathrooms. These homes are close to the library, post office, shopping and medical care. These units are subsidized by the Rural Development Program. Built in 1998 and located in Albany near Eleanor Park, Cottage Creek is designed to serve elderly and disabled individuals. Four accessible studio apartments each have a private patio or deck over-looking picturesque Periwinkle Creek. Clayton Meadows Built in 2001, at 2080 SE Queen Ave, Albany, Clayton Meadows offers safe, secure, affordable housing to individual and couples 58 and over. It is a secure three-story building with elevators and has a peaceful, courtyard setting with walkways and garden areas behind the building. Each one or two bedroom unit has individually controlled electric heating and air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and disposal. There are laundry facilities on each floor. Handicap accessible units are available, and smoking is restricted to outside the building. Also provided is a large community room with a full kitchen. Small pets are welcome. Clayton Meadows is designed to be affordable for seniors with a limited or fixed income. Residents are required to sign a six-month lease. Damage deposit, application fee, and pet deposit (as applicable) are required. Rent includes water, sewer, and garbage. Residents pay their own electricity, telephone, internet service and television cable. Income is required for these units and Section 8 is accepted. And if using Section 8, all income requirements will be waived. Small Pets are allowed with prior written permission. |
